A few days ago, I wrote
about dignity death. Recently, the human right court in Europe has issued the
statement saying that a French man was allowed to end his life with dignity
death. He has been a vegetable-like state since 2008. The court allowed the
doctor to remove the life-keeping machine with valid decision. The court decided
whether to allow dignity death of man with no ability to express his emotion
for the first time. There is a law in French that the doctor can discontinue
the treatment of the patient of a vegetable-like state if the improvement of
his condition cannot be seen without prolonging the life and if a lot of
requirements, such as getting his family’s admission, are fulfilled. The court
decided based on the “death with dignity law” made in 2005. I think prolonging
life is not always good, but the case cannot get the patient’s thinking, so the
problem is controversial.
