WRITING - HEALTH

Tony Nicklinson had a stroke seven years ago and then he was paralyzed. He has not been able to move since then, which is the locked-in syndrome. He has endured the mental anguish, and he want to die. He can't kill himself because of his paralysis, so he claimed that the doctor should support his die. He went to the high court to fight to be allowed to end his life with the help of the doctor. However, he lost the 'right to die' case, and six days later, he died. The high court says that the case casts ethical, social and legal problems that is very difficult to solve and sympathizes with him. However, there is a law of forbidding the mercy killing, so it is necessary to change the law. In addition, it is the parliament's role to change laws, so the high court did not accept his opinion. Tony think that whether he ends his life or not depends on himself, not the state and that death with dignity should be allowed. I think that the death with dignity should be allowed if the sufferer's family admit it. However, it is the problem who can die. It is very difficult ethical problem to tell his family or the doctor to help his die. That is highly controversial.
